AGILE

Modern projects are challenged by dynamic and rapid changing environment forcing new and adaptive project management approaches.
AGILE is an evolving set of solutions utilizing Incremental and iterative methodologies (such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean) for rapid development using cross functional teams.

Implementing Agile in organizations and companies is a complex challenge. There are cultural, organizational and processes aspects. Each organization has unique characteristics and challenged by change and uncertainty; therefore, it is not enough to adopt and apply an existing Agile methodology. The best solution shall be tailored for each organization, accompanied by an accurate coaching process to a successful implementation.

RBS Projects is successfully implementing PMI’s Disciplined Agile toolkit in many organizations. According to this approach, the agile solution is “tailor-made” in a dedicated and pragmatic way, according to the different life cycles of activities:

  • Agile: For cyclic and iterative development
  • Lean: For continuous non-iterative work
  • Agile Continuous Delivery: For fixed development teams that can produce continuously
  • Lean Continuous Delivery: for fixed teams that can produce continuously
  • Exploratory: For research and development based on the Lean Startup approach
  • Program: For complex projects involving several development teams

Emphasis is placed on the initiation phase of the project (Inception( ,including  planning, risk identification, architecture definition and team building, as well as on the delivery phase (Transition)  for successful operation of the product/system.This expands the agile approach beyond development and production, as a DevOps concept.

Disciplined Agile is a hybrid approach that utilizes diverse Agile methodologies such as SCRUM, but in a less strict manner, while adapting to the organization’s development and project management needs. 21 Goal Principles are used, reflecting the various phases of the project (organization, implementation, and delivery). Projects with diverse development characteristics that combine hardware, software, and subsystems in different levels of development and integration (not just software development) are also addressed.

In addition, the Disciplined Agile toolkit supports scaling of the application to all levels of the organization up to the enterprise level, including comprehensive IT processes, product management, marketing, HR and more.

emphasis is placed on adapting to the existing organizational structure and processes, while making the most out of them.
